Taylor Alison Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, on December 13, 1989. Scott Kingsley Swift, her father, is a former Merrill Lynch stockbroker; Andrea Gardner Swift (née Finlay), her mother, is a former homemaker and mutual fund marketing executive. The paternal great-great-grandfather of Swift was an Italian immigrant entrepreneur and community leader who opened several businesses in Philadelphia in the 1800s.
