Early Life
Rajinikanth was born on Shivaji Rao Gaekwad on 12 December 1950 in a Maratha Kunbi family in Bangalore, Mysore State (present day Karnataka). He was named after the Maratha Empire lord Shivaji, and was raised communicating in Marathi at home and Kannada outside. His mom was a housewife,[d] and his dad Ramoji Rao Gaekwad was a police constable.
His progenitors hailed from Mavadi Kadepathar, Pune, Maharashtra.
